The trust runs two hospitals, both located in Gravesend, Kent. Darent Valley Hospital, opened in 2000, is a modern district general hospital and Queen Mary’s Hospital is an elderly care hospital. The trust was established in April 2006 after being authorised by the Department of Health and it is responsible for delivering acute healthcare services in both primary and secondary care. The trust has 1,650 beds in total across both sites and serves a population of around 380,000 people. Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust provides a range of services such as medical care, surgery, diagnostics, maternity care and mental health services. It also provides specialist services such as renal dialysis, cancer treatment, stroke rehabilitation and out-patient clinics. The trust also provides community health services such as district nursing, health visiting and community midwifery.
