The NHS Litigation Authority (NHSLA) is a special health authority of the National Health Service in England and Wales. It was established in 1995 to manage clinical negligence claims against the NHS, and has since grown to become one of the largest public sector insurers in Europe. The NHSLA provides legal advice, risk management services, indemnity cover and dispute resolution for all healthcare providers within the NHS.
