Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest mental health trusts in England, providing a range of specialist services to people across Greater Manchester. They provide care and support for those suffering from mental illness or distress, as well as their families and carers.

The trust was established in 2006 following the merger of two separate trusts: South West Pennine Healthcare NHS Trust and Salford & Trafford Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. They now offer a range of services including: substance misuse treatment; crisis resolution teams; early intervention teams; memory assessment clinics; forensic psychiatry services; learning disability health service teams; psychological therapies such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT); occupational therapy; talking therapies such as Counselling and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT); Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs) providing 24 hour coverage throughout Greater Manchester, seven days a week. In addition they also have an older people's integrated team consisting of nurses, social workers and psychiatrists who specialise in looking after elderly patients with mental health problems.

They are committed to offering good quality mental healthcare that meets both clinical standards and patient expectations – making sure that all patients are able to access appropriate care at the right time by having an experienced multi-disciplinary team on hand whenever needed.
