East Lancashire Teaching Primary Care Trust (ELT PCT) is a National Health Service (NHS) organisation which provides primary care services to the people of East Lancashire, in the North West of England. The PCT was formed in 2002 and serves an area with a population of over 500,000 people.

The PCT is responsible for commissioning and providing primary care services such as GPs, dentists, opticians, pharmacists and other health professionals. It also commissions some specialist services such as hospital care, mental health services and community health services.

ELT PCT works in partnership with local authorities, voluntary organisations and the NHS to ensure that all members of the community have access to high quality healthcare. It has a range of strategies in place to improve the health of its local population, including reducing smoking rates, increasing physical activity levels and improving access to primary care services.

The PCT also works closely with local schools and colleges to promote healthy lifestyles and raise awareness of health issues. It also supports a range of initiatives aimed at tackling health inequalities in East Lancashire, including projects that focus on older people, children and young people, and those from ethnic minority backgrounds.

The PCT is committed to providing excellent patient care and continually strives to improve the quality of services it offers. It regularly reviews its performance and has recently developed a Quality Improvement Strategy which sets out its plans for improving patient care.
