Inspired by the prehistoric age — a time “before Wi-Fi” — the developers designed a small, 8-bit T-Rex that would come to life whenever the “No Internet” screen appeared. The concept was minimal but clever. As Gabriel once said, the game was “a nod to the prehistoric times when the world had no internet.” What started as a small joke quickly turned into a global phenomenon.

About Dinosaur Game

The Dinosaur Game was created in 2014 by a group of Chrome developers — Sebastien Gabriel, Alan Bettes, and Edward Jung — as an Easter egg for users who lost their internet connection. The idea was simple: if you can’t browse the web, at least you can have a little fun while waiting for your connection to return.
