Welcome to the Greenmantle. Why not make yourself at home at one of Edinburgh’s leading pubs? Nominated for pub of the year 2011, we offer so much more than a traditional pub. The mantle strives on providing great Scottish hospitality giving our customers the best possible experience, with traditional music being one of our specialties.
Located on Nicolson Street in the south of the city, it is ideally situated for all Edinburgh has to offer: - The Queen's Hall, Festival Theatre, Fringe Festival and University campus.
Proud of our Shetland roots, we try to support local produce and our ‘Puddledub’ buffalo burgers have received outstanding reviews in some of the capitals food guides. Oh and did we mention we serve food right up until midnight everyday!
Keen on maintaining our cask marque award, we like to support local brewers such as Stewarts, Harvieston and Broughton. The rotation of their fantastic real ales, allied with our endless pursuit for excellence, guarantees our beer is kept fresh and served at the highest level.....Be sure to keep an eye out for our very own ‘Greenmantle Ale’ it’s a taste sensation!

The List - "Ostensibly an ordinary Nicolson Street drinking den the Greenmantle makes for a pleasant surprise. Starting with the excellent home-made food - the pub shows that attention to detail in this type of environment can make all the difference. The menu is dominated by their unique Puddledub Buffalo burgers. Served simply with red onion marmalade in a floury bun, shows off the unusual meat very well. Hot pots and soups all arrive with freshly baked Shetland bannocks, and a string of real ales along the bar completes the picture of a hearty pub dinner. There never seems to be a dull evening here!"
