At Roselyon, a small school with caring teachers, we ensure that children are welcomed from the first day. Most children have taster visits for familiarisation but this is not always possible for our service families so, instead, we encourage friendship networks through telephone or e-mail conversations, allowing prospective children to have a familiar name to meet on their first day. We are able to tailor the curriculum to the needs of the class and even to individuals within it. So, whilst we probably won’t be able to leave out a topic which a child has already covered, we can offer opportunities to explore information on allied subjects to ensure that they do not repeat the same work. We have a thriving Friends of Roselyon association to which all our parents belong. This is an opportunity to meet other parents from the school for social or fund-raising activities. At a quiz night or a welcome barbecue you can get to know other families in the community, expanding your local network of friends – whilst also getting an idea of the best things to do with your children in Cornwall! We are keen to support NHS staff families and therefore offer a discount available only to those employed within the NHS. Our flexible private minibus service can transport your children from a point close to your home and deliver them back in the evening.
