“With new owners taking over The Wig in Brynmill last year, the pub has seen a refurbishment that created a comfy lounge bar separate from a classic dining area. The new team of chefs have developed a new menu which incorporates a traditional pub grub theme with an upper class twist, creating a large selection of homemade dishes that reflects the best of local produce in Swansea. The key to success has been the introduction of an early bird special of 20% off dishes between 12-3, an OAP’s deal of 2 courses for £4.95 and a daily changing specials board.
The famous Wig Sunday Carvery has made a revolutionary comeback this summer, so whether it is a light bite, a delicious evening meal or an exquisite Sunday roast, your every need can be catered for down with us at The Wig.”
The Wig has a warm and welcoming vibe and prides itself on great service and excellent quality. As a large pub we have plenty of space for everyone, whether that’s in our comfortable lounge area, relaxed dining restaurant or the heated outdoor terrace, whatever the weather or preference there is something to suit everybody’s taste.
Food:
Whether it’s a quick bite to eat or something a bit more filling our menu has it all and is served from 12-9pm. Using only the freshest ingredients all sourced locally, each meal is prepared individually by our team of chefs and served to you by our friendly restaurant staff.
For those of you with a big appetite and like a challenge come join us on a Thursday between 5-9pm for our Wig vs Food night. Choose from our mega meal challenges: The Judge (38oz Burger Stack), The Jury (42oz Mixed Grill) or The Executioner (Extremely spicy Chilli). Defeat them in the allotted 20 minute time limit and pay only £1 for the meal and get a ‘I beat the Wig Challenge’ T-Shirt. (Bookings essential and confirmed by Wed afternoon latest). Also, we know how long the six weeks summer holidays are so we are offering a ‘Kids Eat Free’ deal during the summer to keeping those little ones entertained. The offer is valid for any child under 12 years old with any paying adults meal.
If this wasn’t great enough, come to us between 12-3pm and you can enjoy 20% of selected products from our menu, just for being an early bird!
Drinks:
You may be a real ale drinker, prefer a glass of wine, enjoy a scotch or simply like an ice cold refreshing cider, either way we have a wide range of drinks that is sure to quench your thirst.
We stock a wide range of internationally bottled beers alongside a number of popular real ales, draught lager and ciders. Our wine menu has been chosen to complement our fantastic food dishes but can also be enjoyed on their own with the company of friends.
If you fancy a spirit we have taken the time to source the right blend of popular brands alongside some you may not have heard of. Whether you’re after an aged scotch to warm yourself up whilst sat next to the open fire or an ice cold bombay sapphire and tonic to sit on the front terrace whilst the sun sets. Ask our well trained staff who will only be happy to help.
Entertainment:
We have a number of weekday activities to keep you entertained; from the free pool all day Monday, where you can challenge the manager between 8-9pm for the chance to win a free pint.
Wednesday nights are Karaoke nights down here at the Wig, where you can show of your vocals to our locals from 9pm.
If you haven’t got what it takes to brave our Wig Vs. Food Challenge, come down to watch other courageous customers tackle it from 5-9pm every Thursday evening.
If live music is your thing, get yourself down to the Wig on the weekend where we showcase the best of local musicians to make sure you have a good time. Come down every Friday and Saturday night from 9.15pm onwards to enjoy both established bands alongside up and coming musicians. Your weekends will never be boring again!
