A warm welcome awaits all at North Devon CAMRA’s Pub of the Year, The Bell Inn. Occupying a scenic spot opposite the village church, this is the quintessential community pub and is both child- and dog-friendly. Fantastic food, great real ale and a convivial atmosphere make this a lovely spot in which to while away an afternoon with family and friends.
Food is homemade and utilises produce cultivated locally. Expect to find starters such as creamed mushroom and Stilton gratin with a tarragon crust. Main-course options include the likes of homemade steak and Exmoor Ale pie and seafood Mornay, which features cod, salmon, smoked haddock and prawns in a rich cheese sauce. There are also exciting weekly specials like curry club on Monday and Tuesday, steak night on Wednesday and homemade beer-battered cod on Thursday. Roasts are served for Wednesday and Sunday lunch.
When the weather is accommodating, take your meal – and delicious tipple – outside and make use of the decking and large beer garden. Surrounded by lush greenery, The Bell Inn is a great place to stop off and refuel after exploring the area, and boasts en-suite rooms upstairs for those in need of a good night’s rest.
The pub boasts Sky and BT Sport throughout, a function room where major sporting events are aired, a skittles alley and pool table, and free Wi-Fi – what more could you ask for?
