The Yoga Body Centre is a community-led yoga studio in the heart of Hackney.
The Yoga Body Centre at Clapton Pond has been serving the local community for Seven Years - we are a small friendly yoga studio offering both Pilates and Yoga Classes, open to the public at the studio are: Mixed ability Hatha, Iyengar, Astanga, Dynamic Flow, Kundalini, Antenatal, Postnatal, Restorative and Recuperative Yoga, Yoga Trapeze as well as Pilates.
We also teach private sessions to individuals, group corporate classes and classes within Secondary Schools to both staff and students as part of an enrichment program. We also work with individuals on a rehabilitation level - rehabilitating students after injury and or illness, helping them find a suitable practice for the individual.
Our teachers are all highly experienced and well practiced them selves, in our opinion this is what makes good teachers, along with years of teaching experience – teaching is the best way to learn how to be a considerate and good teacher.
Our classes are small, usually no more than fourteen on the mats at a time, this allows all of the teachers to keep an eye on the individual students, giving them verbal cues to adapt and perform the postures in a tailored way to ensure that the practice is safe as well as relevant to the students individual needs – all of us have our own body history needing to be taken into account when being instructed within a group class setting.
We pride ourselves on holding a safe space for all of our students – the studio is a beautiful place in which to practice with natural light and views of nature and wildlife from our panoramic vista of Clapton Pond.
We are fully equipped with all the props required to help the individuals to perform postures to their best abilities, developing a personal style suitable to the individuals needs giving the confidence to develop their own practice over time.
