Situated in the Heart of Southampton's Cultural Quarter, the Cellar has been stoking the embers of creative & original entertainment whilst also supporting existing musical movements that may not be in the mainstream for over 10 years and in that time developed a fantastic reputation amongst music lovers, artists, academics, movers & shakers as well as a host of international friends.
Bringing quality live music and events to the city centre up to 7 nights a week, the Cellar frequently plays host to the best local emerging talent as well as nationally and internationally acclaimed musicians and entertainers, offering great value entertainment to everyone from 21 to 81!
The Management pride themselves on the Cellar's trouble-free and easygoing atmosphere that keep customers coming back for more, time and time again. So much so, that the biggest little venue in town is the only venue in the city with a truly international reputation (from Israel to Japan, Australia to Poland) for quality acts and a great night out. attracting custom from all over the UK & Europe to our gigs.
Such is the success of this hidden gem, since the turn of the century, live music is now flourishing in bars never before associated with live sounds in the city, something we are so very proud of. With a place deep rooted in music, you won't be surprised to hear that the Cellar offers rehearsal and recording facilities for local & regional, established and emerging talent.
Accompanying the music, the Cellar operates as a fully independent Cafe-Bar offering its customers the finest range of premium speciality bottled beers in the whole of the city, and has the welcoming, relaxed Bohemian feel that is hard to find in the hustle & bustle of city centre life. With old favourites on draught such as the Artois' & Guinness, to the more unique offerings of a Kriek; Erdinger - Blonde & Brunette; Fischer; Leffe; Staropramen & Addlestones Cider. The Cellar is uniquely positioned to offer tasting sessions to connoisseurs and for groups large and small.
The Soul Bowl Cafe is now open from 11am Monday - Saturday, with the Cellar Social Club running weeknights early doors from 5 to 9 offering an entertaining rest place for the after work crowd in the central business district.
