Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is a health care provider in the North East of England. It is one of the largest integrated care trusts in the country, providing acute, community and mental health services to a population of 1.4 million people across Northumberland and North Tyneside.

The Trust was formed in April 2002, following the merger of two trusts - North Tyneside Health Care NHS Trust and Northumberland Health Care NHS Trust. It provides services from a range of hospital sites, community health centres and mental health facilities. The trust employs more than 7,000 staff and provides care to over 1 million patients every year.

The Trust is committed to delivering high quality care to its patients. It is part of the National Quality Assurance Framework (NQAF) and is also registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The Trust has achieved Foundation Trust status and is now able to make decisions locally about how services should be run and managed.

The Trust has recently been awarded a contract to provide 24-hour urgent care services across Northumberland and North Tyneside. This includes a Minor Injuries Unit at Wansbeck General Hospital, as well as improved access to GPs, out-of-hours services, walk-in centres and community hospitals.

The Trust also works closely with local charities and voluntary organisations to deliver health and social care services to those who need it most. It works in partnership with local authorities, other NHS organisations and the independent sector to provide integrated care for local people.

The Trust has an ambitious strategy for the future which will see it develop new models of care that are tailored to meet the needs of local people. Its aim is to ensure that every patient receives safe, high quality care that is delivered in a timely manner by skilled and dedicated staff.
