Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is a large National Health Service (NHS) trust in England. It provides acute and community services to Wakefield, Barnsley, Rotherham and surrounding areas. The trust was formed in April 2000 following the merger of Pontefract & District NHS Trust and Wakefield & Pontefract Community Healthcare NHS Trust with Dewsbury & District Hospital NHS Trust.

The trust currently operates three hospitals; Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield, Dewsbury and District Hospital in Dewsbury and Pontefract General Infirmary in Pontefract. These hospitals provide a wide range of services including accident and emergency care, maternity services, intensive care units, surgical departments as well as outpatient clinics for both adults and children.

In addition to its hospital-based services the trust also provides community health services such as district nursing, health visiting, physiotherapy, speech therapy and dietetics across the local area. The trust also runs several specialist centres including a Cardiac Centre at Dewsbury Hospital which offers angioplasty procedures to treat heart disease as well as an Oral Health Care Centre at Wakefield providing dental treatment for children under 18 years old who are registered with an NHS dentist or require urgent dental treatment due to pain or swelling of the mouth or face.

The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust employs over 7500 staff who provide healthcare services across all three sites within the organisation’s remit area which covers around 1 million people living within it's catchment area of South West Yorkshire
