Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) is the largest health board in Wales, providing services for more than 690,000 people across a population area of more than 2.4 million. BCUHB is responsible for providing primary care, mental health, specialist and community services to the population in North Wales.

The Health Board has around 8,000 staff delivering care through its eight hospitals, four community hospitals and over 200 other locations including GP surgeries and community clinics. It also delivers a range of public health services including alcohol and substance misuse services and health promotion.

BCUHB has set itself ambitious goals to improve quality of care, reduce waiting times and make the best use of resources. The Health Board is committed to promoting patient safety by using evidence-based practice across all areas of service delivery, as well as developing innovative models of care that focus on prevention and early intervention.

BCUHB also works with local communities to ensure that it provides services which meet their needs. It has developed effective partnerships with third sector organisations such as Age Cymru which provide advice and support to older people living in the region.
