North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust is a large acute hospital trust located in North Cumbria, United Kingdom. The trust operates the Cumberland Infirmary and the West Cumberland Hospital in Carlisle and the Whitehaven Hospital in Whitehaven.

The trust was created in April 2002 from the merger of two existing trusts, the Cumberland Infirmary NHS Trust and the West Cumberland Hospital NHS Trust. The new trust is responsible for providing acute hospital services to a population of more than 400,000 people living in north Cumbria.

The trust provides a range of services including accident and emergency care, medical and surgical care, maternity services, mental health services and specialist cancer care. It is also home to the largest dialysis unit in Europe, with more than 400 patients receiving treatment every week.

The trust has also implemented innovative approaches to care such as ‘virtual wards’ which use technology to allow clinicians to monitor patients from home rather than them having to come into hospital for appointments. This has allowed for a reduction in unnecessary admissions to hospital as well as reducing patient waiting times for appointments and tests.

The trust employs more than 4,000 staff who are dedicated to providing quality healthcare for their local communities.
