Devon Primary Care Trust (PCT) was a NHS organisation responsible for providing primary care services in the county of Devon, England. It was established in April 2002 and abolished in April 2013. The PCT was responsible for commissioning and providing a range of primary care services, including general practice, community nursing, health visiting, mental health services, sexual health services and dental services. It also had responsibility for public health and commissioning secondary care services from hospitals. The PCT worked closely with other local organisations such as Devon County Council, local authorities and the voluntary sector to ensure that all local people had access to high quality healthcare. It also had responsibility for the management of NHS budgets in the county. The PCT was abolished in April 2013 as part of the government’s NHS reforms and its functions were taken over by NHS England.
