Wedding is one of the most important days in bride and groom's life. When it comes to photographing weddings your wedding photographer have to be multi-skilled.
She/he needs to be skilled in portraits - taking couple intimate shots of love, laughter, closeness and pure happiness requires good understanding of posing, light and surrounding to be able to take the most favourable images of bride and groom. Portrait skills also apply when taking pictures of traditions and unconventional group shots, good organisation of people and posing play a huge role here. The next essential skill the wedding photographer must acquire, is a photojournalism. This skill allows the photographer to capture the ceremony, guests and the wedding couple's genuine interactions from the distance. She/he needs to act almost as invisible guest, to make sure that those candid, loving, warm and happy moments are not interrupted but are captured forever. At last, but not at least, photographer have to be skilled in architectural photography and acquire three-dimensional conceptual thinking when it comes to photographing structures, people, their interactions, their relationships, and the spaces they’re in. This dramatically helps to master image composition to create captivating photographs from such important, one in a lifetime wedding day.
What is also crucial I believe, is the skill of collaborative working with bride and groom before the wedding and during the consultations, to be able to understand couple's needs to execute their ideas during their wedding day. Moreover a photographer has to aquire a strong visual sense and storytelling to be able to reflect that on the couple's wedding photographs.
I strongly believe that expressive and dynamic style, which also creates a deep richness in colour helps to make an impact and makes wedding images unforgettable. Not to say that the gentle, light and airy photos can't make an impact to, hence it's important to discuss these requirements with the couple beforehand.
Lastly it is one of the most essential skills to understand the light, the movement and placement of light to enrich wedding pictures with warmth and natural ambience often using nature components to extract the final stunning effect.
