About The Dancehouse Theatre
Since opening in 1994, The Dancehouse Theatre has been a home for a vast range of arts in Manchester. As well as playing host to many high calibre international acts, the theatre takes great pride in working with local artists and promoters as a vibrant cultural pulse point for the city.
Having primarily been established as a comedy, theatre and dance venue, more recently we have tapped into the building's cinematic roots with movie nights and film screenings in our classic Art Deco auditorium. The theatre is also emerging as a new music venue as we host more live events, making the Dancehouse a genuine multi-purpose venue.
Often described as a “hidden gem” and seen as an underground venue, the theatre is now steadily positioning itself at the forefront of modern Mancunian and Northern culture.
