Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a National Health Service (NHS) Foundation Trust based in the Wirral, Merseyside. It provides acute healthcare services to over 330,000 people living in the Wirral and beyond. The trust comprises two hospitals - Arrowe Park Hospital and Clatterbridge Hospital - as well as several community health services and an urgent care centre.

The trust was established in 2006 following the merger of Arrowe Park Hospital NHS Trust and Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology NHS Trust. It became a foundation trust in 2008 and has been providing high quality care ever since.

The trust is committed to delivering excellent patient care through its dedicated staff and cutting-edge technology. It strives to provide safe, effective, responsive and compassionate services that meet the needs of local people. The trust also works closely with local universities, including Liverpool John Moores University and Edge Hill University, to ensure it is able to provide world-class training opportunities for its staff.

In addition to its core clinical services, the trust offers a range of specialist treatments such as cardiology, cancer treatment and fertility services at both sites. Its research activities are focused on improving patient outcomes through better understanding of diseases and conditions that affect the local population.

As one of only three teaching hospital trusts in England, Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has been awarded ‘outstanding’ ratings from both Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspections for being well led by its board of directors who have provided clear direction for how it should deliver its mission statement – “to provide excellent healthcare services with compassion”
