West Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is a large National Health Service (NHS) hospital located in Isleworth, West London. The trust provides a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services to local residents, as well as providing regional specialist services for people across the south of England. It is part of the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, one of the largest teaching trusts in the country. The trust was established in 1994 following the merger of Ealing Hospital and West Middlesex Hospital. It has two sites; West Middlesex University Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. The trust also provides community health services at seven centres across west London, including Chiswick Health Centre, Brentford Health Centre and Acton Walk-in Centre. The trust employs over 5,000 staff across its sites and provides care for around 500,000 patients every year. Services provided include acute medicine and surgery, critical care and trauma services, maternity care including neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), outpatient clinics and diagnostic imaging departments. The trust also provides mental health services through its South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust partnership. West Middlesex University Hospital has recently undergone major redevelopment with state-of-the-art facilities including a new cancer centre and an integrated adult urgent care centre which opened in 2019. The hospital also runs one of the busiest accident & emergency departments outside London with over 120,000 attendances each year.
