Redbridge Primary Care Trust (PCT) was an NHS trust in England. It was established in April 2002 and covered the London Borough of Redbridge. The PCT was responsible for commissioning healthcare services from hospitals, GPs and other providers, to meet the needs of its population. The PCT worked with a wide range of partners including local authorities, voluntary organisations and other health care providers to ensure that local people received the best possible health care. It also provided public health services such as sexual health promotion, immunisation programmes and screening programmes. In April 2013 Redbridge PCT merged with two neighbouring trusts – Barking & Dagenham PCT and Havering PCT – to form a new organisation called North East London Commissioning Support Unit (NEL CSU). This new organisation works across the three boroughs to provide commissioning support services to GPs, hospital doctors and other healthcare professionals. The main objectives of NEL CSU are to: -Support clinical decision making -Develop new models of care -Provide intelligence on population needs -Drive quality improvement -Manage financial resources effectively NEL CSU is part of NHS England’s wider system for delivering high-quality healthcare services across England.
