Leeds and York Partnerships NHS Foundation Trust is a mental health trust that provides specialist mental health services to people in Leeds, York and the surrounding areas. The trust was established in April 2006 following the merger of two trusts: Leeds Mental Health Teaching NHS Trust and York Partnership NHS Trust. It is one of the largest providers of mental health services in England, with over 1,500 staff providing care for more than 50,000 people each year. The trust provides a range of services including crisis resolution teams, community mental health teams, acute wards for adults and older adults as well as specialist services such as eating disorder units and secure forensic units. The trust also works closely with local authorities to provide support for those living with learning disabilities or autism spectrum disorders. The trust has an active research programme which focuses on improving outcomes for patients by developing new treatments or interventions. It also works closely with universities to ensure that its staff are up-to-date on best practice approaches to delivering care. In addition to providing direct patient care, the trust also offers training opportunities for healthcare professionals from across Yorkshire and beyond through its Learning & Development Centre at Seacroft Hospital in Leeds. This centre provides courses covering topics such as clinical skills development, leadership development and service improvement initiatives amongst others.
